This cave was used by the Vietcong to transport aid from the north to the south during the war.
The concaves on the roof of the cave are from thousands of U.S. bombs. We were trying to collapse the cave.
We rented motorbikes and drove through Phong Kha-Ke Bang National Park.
While driving through town we were waved down by locals. Again, to invite us to share rice wine and cigarettes.
We got a flat tire and we had no cash to pay for it.
Luckily the mechanic accepts American sunglasses.
I traded my shades for:
- his shades
- a half liter of gas
- and a tire repair
Considering the glasses didn’t fit me and I found them at work, I’d say I got a good deal.
We rented a motorbike on Cat Ba Island.
After I took these pictures I asked a local where the nearest gas station was. He escorted us to his house to share rice wine and shisha with friends and family before taking us to get gas.
